Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • To start, have your group choose vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ocean Lakes Site 1650 - 3 bedrooms \/ 2 baths has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your family.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
