Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront - Million Dollar View with Stunning Updates!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
