Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.

How to pick the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • To start, have your group select date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Amazing Harbour Lights, 1 Bedroom Deluxe has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.

During your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
