Tips to get the best vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. BEAUTIFUL SEA BREEZE BEACH HOUSE has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
