Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Ocean View 1BR Condo has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
