Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the best rental home:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Compass Cove Resort 759 - Oceanfront! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before reserving your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
