Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. LA50 Great Ocean View studio on the beach + pool has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your trip.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Additional considerations:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
