Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Make a plan and pick yourrental:
- To start, have your group decide on the best dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Large 2 Bedroom 2 Bath Pool / Courtyard View Condo - Anchorage Rentals has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If not, email or call the property management company before you book your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
