Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by having your group agree to trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Ocean Bliss - Oceanfront 1bd/1ba Condo -11205 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
