How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • To book the largest rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.

How to choose and book your Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Begin by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Ocean Lakes - Site 5003 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before you book the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
