Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean View @ Landmark Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
