Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to pick the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your family decide on dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Oceanfront 3 Bedroom Condo at Great Resort + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
