Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Oceanview Condo with Pool and Private Beach Access! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation group.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
