Getting the best vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Stunning Oceanfront Condo! Perfect for 4 Guests! Sea Mist 20409 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If not, call the property owner before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
