Tips to get the best rental experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Selecting the best rental:
- Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 2BR 2BA OCEAN VIEW IN THE SEAWATCH RESORT GREAT AMENITIES has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
