Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beach side Condo Retreat in the Heart of Myrtle Beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
