Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation property experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Oceanview stunning view of ocean, 5 Bedroom, 3.5 bath has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs applied to your invoice.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
