Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Finding the best value:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:

  • Choose dates and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Oceanview stunning view of ocean, 5 Bedroom, 3.5 bath has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
