How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean Views from both levels of this house. has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you love, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
