Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book your prefectrental:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Ocean Lakes #1026 - 5BR:3BA in the Holiday Inn Section! Short walk to the beach! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is suitable for your family.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
