Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
How to select the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Beautiful 5BR Beach House Ocean Lakes with Ocean and Lake Views has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
