Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Tranquil and cozy 1st floor condo at Myrtlewood MB has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before reserving the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of issues.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
