Tips and Tricks for getting the best rental home experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- To get the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Tranquil and cozy 1st floor condo at Myrtlewood MB has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you book the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
