Welcome to Surfside Beach Golf Carts located at 710A US Highway 17 Business North, Surfside Beach, SC 29575. Our business hours are 9:00 AM-5:00 PM daily. Phone: 843-650-0600. This address location is for customer pickup & return golf cart rental. Delivery/Pickup Service is available in most locations. Fees vary depending on location, community fees & restrictions. In the event we are requested to make a service call during business hours, and it is determined that the problem is the result of improper operation of the cart or failure to properly connect with the charging system a $75.00 fee will be charged.

For emergencies after hours, contact our office 843-650-0600 listen to the voice prompt, press 5 for after-hours service. This number is for emergencies only. In the event we are requested to make a service call after business hours, and it is determined that the problem is the result of improper operation of the cart or failure to properly connect with the charging system a $150.00 fee will be charged. Should you require assistance, please leave your name, return number, your vacation location, and a summary of your emergency. After-hours service is available from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. It is not attended to before or during normal business hours. Non-emergencies will be addressed the following day.

We have included the rental guidelines for our company below. Please take a few minutes to look over all the information provided to you. Please pay special attention to our Service Request, Cancellation & Refund Policy, as restrictions apply.

Should you request Delivery/Pickup Service, you need not be present. Every effort is made to deliver your cart between 3:00 PM-4:00 PM Standard Check-in Time. Depending on your delivery location on the driver’s route, your cart may already be delivered by the time you arrive! If your cart does not arrive by 4:00 PM, simply call our office at 843-650-0600, and we will assist with delivery status and questions. As we are unable to control congestion, construction, weather, mechanical delays, etc., we ask for your patience and understanding should we experience delays. We do not offer compensation due to late delivery.

Upon arrival, renters must inspect all rental items for satisfactory condition. Unsatisfactory rental items must be reported to Surfside Beach Golf Carts within twenty-four (24) hours of check-in time. If unsatisfactory rental items are not reported within twenty-four (24) hours of check-in time, items are then deemed satisfactory and the renter will be held liable for any damage found upon pickup w/out prior report to Surfside Beach Golf Carts Effective your arrival day, we do not offer Refunds. We will replace your item, offer alternative equipment of comparable value, or issue credit for a future rental. Please report all requests for exchanges or additional equipment by 12:00PM to ensure same day service. Requests made after 12:00 PM will be serviced the following day.

At the conclusion of your rental period, it is imperative that you leave the cart charging with a FULL CHARGE on the charger. Failure to leave the cart on the charger with a FULL CHARGE upon the completion of your rental will result in a $75.00 charge. Upon completion of the rental, the cart should be washed off thoroughly. Do not use a pressure washer, a water hose will be sufficient. Make sure that the charger does not get wet, and that the entire cart is rinsed, including the battery compartment and the undercarriage. Failure to wash the cart at the completion of rental period will result in a $75.00 cleaning fee. Leave the Golf Cart locked & secured in the same location the cart was delivered to you.

REVIEW ALL REGULATIONS & SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Per South Carolina state law, "daylight hours" means after six o'clock a.m. and no later than six o'clock p.m. However, beginning on the day that daylight saving time goes into effect, through the day that daylight saving time ends, "daylight hours" means after six o'clock a.m. and no later than eight o'clock p.m. All other hours are designated as night-time.

All drivers must be over 21, licensed and insured to operate golf carts. Damage and repair/replacement costs will be charged to your credit card. The financial responsibility for repair and replacement costs is high. Our carts are inspected for damage at the point of delivery and pickup. In the event the cart is damaged during the rental period, the repair cost will be charged to you. Guests are responsible for ensuring the ability to have and to charge the golf cart. Rental is non-refundable for any reason.

Be sure the Golf Cart is fully charged prior to use, and you have reviewed all regulations. In the event a problem does arise we ask that you first check to ensure that all operating instructions are followed, the charger has sufficient power, and the charger is connected properly. If you are unable to resolve the problem, contact Surfside Beach Golf Carts immediately and we will send out a mechanic as soon as possible.

Golf Carts are NOT permitted on the beach. Do NOT Operate the Cart in The Surf. Doing so will result in the loss of the use of the cart. At no time should there be more than 4 (basic golf cart) or 6 (limo golf cart) passengers on the cart. Allowing more than 4 or 6 passengers on the cart will result in contract termination.

Golf Carts, unlike your vehicle, are not equipped with standard safety features: airbags, lane & brake assist etc. Golf Carts must be driven with extreme caution and care. Do NOT make turns at high rates of speed. slow down to turn or make corners etc. Only people that are 21 years of age or older possess a valid driver’s license and insurance are allowed to drive the Golf Cart. You may allow any person to drive the cart who possesses the fore-mentioned criteria, but you will be held responsible for the cart no matter the driver.

Golf Carts are locked upon delivery. Secure Golf Cart & Charger Always. Keys will be placed under the front seat on top of the battery. Key must be removed from the cart anytime the cart is left unattended, and the cart is to be locked. Missing or lost keys will result in a $75.00 charge.

Refer to your Property Manager regarding any vacation property restrictions. Golf Carts are not permitted at Condominium Complexes and within some communities. Guests are responsible for confirming that golf carts are permitted at their vacation property and the ability to charge golf carts at property. The power cord end requires 110v service with a recommended 20-amp circuit. It is your responsibility to ensure that receptacles with adequate power are available at cart delivery locations to charge the cart. Extension cords to reach receptacles are not permitted.

Cart chargers need to be always kept out of the weather and off the beach. We suggest that the charger be left at the residence while operating the cart, in a secure location. Replacement costs for the charger alone are $500.00.

It is recommended that the Cart be placed on the charger anytime it is not in use or at a minimum it should be charged every night. This will ensure you get the most out of the cart for the duration of your rental.

Keep in mind, electric carts cannot and are not designed to run continuously without charging the batteries. Running times will vary and will be shortened if the cart is driven in loose sand or when carrying 4 or 6 passengers. Typically, an electric golf cart has between 45 and 90 minutes of full-power run time on a fully charged battery for approximately 4-6 miles.

Charger is “automatic” and will shut off automatically when the cart is fully charged. The large grey end of the charger plugs into the cart just below the driver’s seat and will only fit one way. All our Electric Carts are equipped with a battery light meter indicating when the batteries are getting low. The light shifts from green to orange and then red, the cart will need to be plugged into the charger when you approach the red bars on the meter.

Refer to your Property Manager for local restrictions & laws. All South Carolina Traffic Laws must be obeyed. All fines issued by the local police departments are the responsibility of the recipient. Common practice is you may cross over primary roads but not drive on them. Golf Carts are generally allowed on streets that have speed limits of 35 MPH or Less.

Cancellations: Cancellations without penalty must be made 90 Days Prior To Arrival. Cancellations made 60-89 Days prior to delivery date will have a 25% cancellation fee applied. Cancellations made 30-59 Days prior to delivery date will have a 50% cancellation fee applied. Cancellations made 15-29 Days prior to delivery date will have a 75% cancellation fee applied. Cancellations made 00-14 Days prior to delivery date are nonrefundable. Minimum cancellation fee is $10.00. On Delivery Day, we do not offer refunds. We will replace your item if dissatisfied, offer alternative equipment of comparable value or credit for a future rental. We Are Open 7 Days A Week 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday – Friday. Prime Season we are open extended hours Saturday and 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Sundays.

No refunds are provided for inclement weather. We will issue a future credit for up to 1 year for only days in which a mandatory evacuation is in effect. Days prior or after mandatory evacuation day(s) and days following are not eligible for future credit. A prorated credit towards future rentals will be given upon a written request within 2 weeks from the date of mandatory evacuation for the number of days the evacuation was mandatory.

Lessee Disclosure: Lessee acknowledges that Lessee has inspected the equipment and has determined that it is in good condition and suitable for the purpose for which it has been leased upon delivery. The Lessee shall only use the property in the manner for which it is designed and intended to be used. Lessee assumes all responsibility for equipment while out of possession of the lessor and promises to return such equipment to the lessor in as good condition as it was at the effective date of the lease, natural wear from a responsible use expected.

Lessee shall be liable for all charges, including labor costs to repair or replace rented equipment, any loss, theft, damage, or destruction of leased property. All equipment lost or damaged beyond repair will be paid by the lessee at a regular replacement price. All damaged equipment which may be repaired will be repaired by the lessor, on return thereof and the cost for such repairs shall be paid by the lessee. Accrued rental charges cannot be applied against the purchase price or cost of repairs of such damaged or lost equipment. If equipment is returned in unusable condition, the rental term and fees for rental continue until equipment is repaired or replaced to usable rent-able condition.

Lessee Indemnification: Lessee shall indemnify and hold Surfside Beach Golf Carts, it’s officers, directors, agents, employees harmless from all claims, damages (including consequential damages), losses, liabilities, claims, suits, cost, expenses, or proceedings (including all costs, expenses, and attorney’s fees) resulting from, related to, or arising out of Lessor’s use or possession of the equipment. This equipment shall be used by the Lessee only. This writing contains and constitutes the entire agreement between the parties. This lease agreement can only be modified by a written agreement signed by both Lessor and Lessee. The Lessee represents that Lessee is at least eighteen (18) years of age and under no disability, which will prevent Lessee from entering into this agreement. Lessee agrees not to part with or assign this lease or the equipment without the written consent of Lessor.

Lessee Risk: All equipment is used at Renter’s risk. Renter understands that there exist certain risks of injury from the use or misuse of such items, including the potential risk of serious injury, disability, or death from the use of such items and agrees to assume all risks in connection with rental equipment, regardless of fault, including without limitation risk of use, risk of loss, risk of theft, risk of damage or destruction. Renter assumes all responsibility for rented equipment while in Renter’s possession. Renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Surfside Beach Golf Carts and their officers, shareholders, owners, operators, agents, and employees from any claim arising from renter’s use, operation, or possession of the rented equipment. Under no circumstances will Surfside Beach Golf Carts be held responsible for any damage to person or property, disability, injury, or loss, including death, arising from the use of any rented equipment or the failure of the equipment to function as intended by the manufacturer.
