How to get the best rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Elevated Coastal Retreat- Queen Suite 7th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your group.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
