How to get the best vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing and booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by having your family select trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Bluewater Resort's King Honeymoon Suite has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you love, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
