How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Bluewater Resort's King Honeymoon Suite has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.

- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.

- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
