Our top Rental home booking tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Finding the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 1 bedroom Condo a Golfers dream \n Arrowhead Community 125 pn has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
