Booking the best vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- First and foremost, have your group select dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. A415 at the Myrtle Beach Resort : Sweeping Coastal Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
