Booking the best vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the perfect vacation home:

  • To start, have your family decide on a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. A526 Beach Retreat at The Myrtle Beach Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
