Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book the bestrental home:
- First, have your group select date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 16th-floor oceanfront condo with memorable beach views, hot tubs, pools, gym has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
