How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Stylish Escape Oceanview Suite @ Meridian Plaza! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If not, email or call the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
