How to get the best rental home experience:

When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 17th-floor oceanfront condo with pool, hot tub, & W\/D - snowbird-friendly has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is optimal for your group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you crave, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
