Strategies to get the very best vacation home experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the perfect rental home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. 19th-floor partial ocean-view snowbird-friendly condo with AC & W\/D has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If not, email the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
