Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectrental home:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 1BR Indoor Water Park in Oceanview's Dunes Village has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
