Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

Make a plan and choose the right Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 1st Floor Ocean View Snowbird Friendly Studio w/ Shared Pool/Hot Tub, WiFi, AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
