Getting the best vacation rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing a perfectrental:
- Select a group leader, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. The Twins at OceanReef 3BD Oceanview Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

- Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
