Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • To get the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. The Twins at OceanReef 3BD Oceanview Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If not, call the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
