Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and choosing your prefect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select vacation week and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 1st Level Oceanfront Studio! Direct Beach Access! Sea Mist 20107 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
