Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental home value:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and pick the rightrental:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Spacious Oceanfront Suite @ Boardwalk has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
