How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by having your family agree to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Stay & Play Sports Travel, New Construction, Pet Friendly, Covered Parking has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. Otherwise, contact the host before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your contract.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
