Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the best rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Narrow your Search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 2BR\/2BA-Bluewater Resort 1002A Oceanfront-Hot Tub has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
