Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
Choosing and booking the perfectrental home:
- Choose your vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Newly Renovated 2nd Floor Oceanfront 2 Bdrm Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is right for your trip.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
