Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- To find the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 2nd-floor oceanfront studio with pool, lazy river & AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. Otherwise, email the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
