Getting the best rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 3 bdr\/2 bath oceanfront unit has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the host before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
