Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectrental:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Direct Pool View LRG End Unit has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your family.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
