Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation property experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • To get the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • First and foremost, have your group select trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean Dunes Villas #15, short walk to the beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More considerations:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
