Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfectrental:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. 1654 Ocean Lakes Pet Friendly Golf Cart????????????????????????? has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is right for your family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
