Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to pick the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose your vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 3rd-floor oceanfront condo with great beach views, hot tubs, pools & lazy river has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
