Tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. New Pics! Updated 4 Bedroom OCEAN LAKES with Huge Deck & Golf Cart Included! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your trip.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
