Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
Get the best rental home value:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 4 bd\/ 4 ba Home in Ocean Lake. Golf Cart included. has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. text the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
