Tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First, have your group decide on the best dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 4th Floor Oceanfront Room with Oceanfront Views has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
